Allianz

A responsive form system that cut Allianz design time by more than half. It gave designers a complete, responsive starting point instead of another empty frame. The template carried the key decisions — structure, field grouping, breakpoints and actions — so teams could focus on the journey rather than rebuilding the same foundations. Shared through the Allianz Figma library, it turned a repeated design task into a simple pull, trim and ship workflow.

Challenge

Challenge

Most of Allianz Commercial is forms. Quotes, submissions, policy data and claims all come down to fields, sections and actions.

Designers had the components, but every form still started from a blank frame.

Each designer rebuilt the same layout field by field. It was slow, and the responsive behaviour depended on how carefully each person rebuilt it. Across 12 product teams, that effort added up fast.

The fix was not another component. It was a better starting point.

I led the initiative with two designers, and framed it as a time problem with one clear fix.

Flip the workflow from build up to delete down.

Instead of assembling a form piece by piece, a designer pulls in one complete responsive template and removes what they do not need. Starting from a correct screen is faster than reaching one.

We built a single form template on top of the Cook Book patterns, so every decision was already made. Breakpoints, field grouping and action placement were built in, so designers never had to rework them.

It lived in a shared Figma library, which meant anyone at Allianz who needed a form could use it, not just Commercial. We published the library and announced it to the design community, so finding it and using it took no training.

Impact

Impact

Designers started every form from a finished screen. Work that took hours became a pull and trim step, and the saved time went into the parts of the journey that needed real design thinking.

One template, shared across Allianz, doing the work of hundreds of rebuilds.

Because it inherited the Cook Book, the fastest path was also the consistent one.

Results

60% faster to produce a new form screen

1 template shared across all of Allianz

20+ designers adopted it in the first quarter

The template also prepares the ground for AI assisted design. With patterns structured as proper Figma components, an AI agent can assemble a described journey straight from the library.
